Moray Hillary is a rising, young star whose artistic gifts shine as brightly as his seasoned peers in the Glasgow School of Art. He finds his inspiration from breaking the barriers of the traditional that many artists find confining. He instead employs designs and images that suggest apparent emotions, then subverts or adapts them in certain scatological themes, so that the initial viewer response to those images can be eroded or dissolved.
Moray’s modular ideas are based on repetition, iconic tattooing, and miniaturization of biomorphic material.
